The Finance Department is comprised of three management sections:

> Revenue & Taxation
> Water Finance & Customer Service
The Financial Services Department is responsible for:
· providing financial management and accounting services in accordance with defined/accepted standards
and protocols;
· providing billing and collection services for all City revenue centres (including property taxation and utility
billing);
· administering the City’s procurement policies and procedures (tendering, RFPs etc.) including accounts
payable;
· overseeing and administering annual budget preparation/approval processes;
· undertaking user-rate studies with regard to water/sewer services and development charges, including the
maintenance of related by-laws and administrative procedures, and assisting departments in undertaking
other user-rate studies;
· preparing and administering application processes for grants;
· facilitating financial auditing procedures;
· preparing annual financial statements and reporting of financial information;
· providing assistance by overseeing the preparation of operational business plans.
