Make-a-splash

The Make-A-Splash Campaign hopes to raise a total of $100,000.00 to purchase essential items to outfit the new Aquatics Facility currently under construction as part of the new Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre. The necessary items needed include underwater wheelchairs, spinal boards, an underwater teaching table, a pool slide, lifeguard equipment, a defibrillator, water toys, starting blocks, electronic timing system, clocks and more.

In early 2006 the Quinte Aquatics Citizens’ Coalition was formed to address the need for an adequate
aquatics facility to serve the needs of the citizens of Belleville and surrounding area. Since that time, the Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments have generously contributed sufficient funding to construct
the new Multiplex Community Recreation Centre which includes a state-of-the-art 25 metre pool, a large therapeutic pool and an aquatics play area for small children. The funding will cover the ‘bricks and mortar’ aspect of this fabulous venue; however, the items that will make it usable for all of the various user groups are not covered under the agreement so they must be purchased with fundraised money.

The Make-A-Splash Campaign will be holding and supporting various fundraising events between now and May 2011. Keep an eye on the City of Belleville Community Events Calendar and the local media for

Donations can be made with Cash, Interac, Credit Card or Cheque. A donation form can be downloaded and printed off of this page. A tax receipt will be issued for all donations.

Donations to the Make-A-Splash Campaign of over $25.00 will be recognized according to the Donor Wall criteria and be prominently displayed at the Aquatics Facility itself as well our virtual Donor Wall on the website will show your contribution and our appreciation. The wishes of donors who wish to donate
anonymously will be respected.
