Belleville's Doctor Recruitment Program
The following candidates have signed agreements, with the City of Belleville's Doctor Recruitment Program.
The program financially supports recent Medical School graduates in agreeing to practice Family Medicine in the City of Belleville upon completion of their studies.

Dr. Ciara Eithne Brown, was born and raised in Dublin, received Bsc in Cork, Ireland. She attended Medical School in Newcastle upon Tyne UK - 2005, and completed 2 yrs of residency in England before coming to Canada and beginning her training again as a resident at Queen's. Ciara's intention has always been to be a GP. Ciara's husband, Dr. Mitch Brown, was raised outside Toronto (north of Whitby). He completed undergraduate studies at Queen's, and Medical School in Cork Ireland; anesthesia training in the North of England, York and Newcastle with FRCA qualifications 2006; Fellowship in neuroanesthesia at Queen's 2007/2008 with FRCPC qualification in May 2008. |

UPDATE Dr. Lodhen commenced his practice in August 2008 ~~~~ Tenzin Lodhen he attended school in India and completed medical training at Delhi University, New Delhi. Tenzin came to Canada in 2003 and started his residency program at the University of Ottawa in 2006. He is a community resident affiliated with the Family Medicine Centre at Civic Hospital in Ottawa. He has done an elective with Dr. Jeff Allin in Belleville and loved the community.
Tenzin's wife is a registered nurse and they have a 4 year old son. Tenzin came to Canada as a refugee and believes Canada has provided him with a great deal of opportunity. He feels very fortunate to be able to work in Canada as a physician and hopes to set up his practice by September 2008. |

Craig Bolton was born and raised in Cambridge, ON. He is completing Medical School at the University of Ottawa and is scheduled to graduate in May of 2008. Prior to medical school, Craig completed an Honours degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON. ~~~~~ |

UPDATE Dr. Livingstone commenced his practice in September 2009 ~~~~ Chris Livingstone was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He completed both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the Univeristy of Manitoba, and is currently a first year family medicine resident there. His fiance, Melanie Dove, an Aerospace Engineer, is from Warkworth, Ontario. They plan to live in the Belleville area once Chris finishes his residency in June of 2009. Chris will setup his practice in Belleville in the fall of 2009. ~~~~~ |

UPDATE In 2009 Dr. Brown commenced his practice in Belleville. ~~~~ Dr. Marty Brown was born and raised in Oromocto, NB. After attending Queen's University in the late 1990's, he returned to the Maritimes for medical school at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Upon graduating in 2006, he and his wife, an occupational therapist missed this area of the courntry and decided to return to southeastern Ontario for his residency in Family Medine. After completing this program in June 2008 he will complete a one-year fellowship in Emergency Medicine, at Queen's. During this time, he will complete several rotations in Belleville. Marty, his wife Erin, and daughter Derry, look forward to living in Belleville and beginning his life as a family physician in 2009.

Jennifer Lynch graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Life Sciences before attending Medical School at the University of Ottawa. Before she entered Medical School, Jennifer had the opportunity to spend two summers working in the Belleville General Hospital pharmacy, where she was introduced to the hospital environment.
Giuseppe (Joey) Bonacci, was born and raised in Ottawa. He is 27 years old. Joey completed a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biochemistry with Co-op at the University of Ottawa before beginning Medical School at the University of Ottawa. ~~~~~ |

UPDATE Dr. Esperanzate & Dr. Whalen commenced their practice in July /August of 2009. ~~~~ Dr. Patrick Esperanzate was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated from Queen's University with a BA, BSc(Hons), and MSc before completing his Doctor of medicine degree at University College in Dublin Ireland. Dr. Jennifer Whelan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and also completed her Doctor of medicine degree at University College in Dublin. After completing a significant amount of time working as residents at Belleville General Hospital, Drs. Esperanzate and Whelan look forward to moving here permanently in the near future. ~~~~~ |

Dr. Julie Bryson completed her Doctor of Medicine, at the University of Western Ontario, in 2007. Julie is married to Ryan McNally. Dr. Bryson plans to open her practice in Belleville in 2011. ~~~~~ |

UPDATE Dr. Sorensen commenced her practice in 2009. ~~~~ Dr. Kyla Sorensen is a family medicine resident at Queen's University. She completed her degree as a Doctor of Medicine at McMaster University in 2007. Dr. Sorensen plans to start practicing in Belleville in 2009. ~~~~~ |

Dr. Luan Le is a Family Medicine resident at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Luan's family came to Canada in the early 1990s and has resided in Hamilton ever since. Luan and Teresa are grateful for the opportunity provided to them and look forward to settling into our community. Dr. Le visited Belleville General Hospital and was given a tour by Dr Paul Dempsey, Abby Leavitt and Dr. Jonathan Kerr. Pictured are Mayor Neil R. Ryan Dobbs is currently in his 3rd of medicine and Noranda Nyholt in her 4th year, both are attending the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. ~~~~~ |

Kyle Lansdell is in his second year at the Northern School of Medicine and will open his Belleville practice in 2012. ~~~~~ |

Ms. Charriere, who already has a nursing degree, will open her family practice in 2010 after graduating from McMaster University in 2008 and spending two years in residence. ~~~~~ |

UPDATE Dr. Kerr started working at QHC on July 1, 2008 and commenced his family practice in September 2008 ~~~~ Dr. Jonathan Kerr, Belleville's was the first member of the new doctor recruitment program.The 26 year old honours graduate is planning to open his practice in the City sometime next fall. | |
