Belleville Transit

Using the Belleville Conventional Transit system is easy, economical and good for the environment.  Belleville Transit operates 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday, inclusive with 8 routes servicing the urban area of the City.   Our fleet consists of 14 coaches travelling approximately 2,300 kilometers per day and we carry 3,000 riders per day safely to their destinations.

Weekday service is every ½ hour from 5:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., then hourly to 10:30 pm. Saturday service is hourly from 6:50 a.m. to 8:50 a.m., then every ½ hour to 6:15 p.m.  Sunday service is hourly from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There is no bus service on Statutory Holidays.

Low Floor Accessible Buses -  Belleville Transit has 10 low floor accessible buses for passengers who use a cane, walker, wheelchair, scooter or handle a baby stroller.    It is not guaranteed that the accessible bus will run every route at each scheduled time, so if you have an appointment, please call customer service at 613-962-1925 to ensure the service will be at your stop at the appropriate scheduled time on that day.

Loyalist Students

Cash Fare: $2.25, Tickets: 10/$20.80, Monthly Pass (unlimited rides): $65.00
LOYALIST SEMESTER PASS $244.00

Seniors (65 yrs. with Federal I.D. Card)
Cash Fare:  $1.90, Tickets:  10/$17.30, Monthly Pass (unlimited rides):  $50.00

Students (High School with current I.D. Card and Elementary 12 yrs. and over):
Cash Fare: $1.90, Tickets: 10/$17.30, Monthly Pass (unlimited rides): $57.00

Child (5 yrs to 11 yrs)

Cash Fare: $1.65 Tickets 10/$14.40, Monthly Pass n/a

Children 4 years and younger travel free

Cash fare requires correct change, the Bus Operator has no change.

Bus Tickets are sold in strips of 10.  

Bus Passes are good for unlimited travel and can be purchased at the Belleville Transit Terminal or City Hall. Passes are usually available for purchase starting the 20th of the previous month. Passes are valid from the first day of the month until the last day of the month printed on the pass. Passes are not transferable and non-refundable

Loyalist Students receive a special rate for a monthly bus pass or purchase a Semester Pass which covers 4 months ridership.  These are available at the Bookstore at the College. 

Transfers are FREE and must be obtained from the Bus Operator after you pay your cash fare or use a bus ticket upon boarding (Pass Holders do not require and are not entitled to receive, a transfer).   Transfers are valid for a one-way continuous trip and the connecting route will happen at the hub - the Belleville Transit Terminal at 165 Pinnacle Street.

Bus Stops are located at most street intersections along bus routes.

Service Dogs are welcome aboard, however no other pets are allowed on the bus.

Ride the Bus And Get A Federal Tax Credit

Belleville Transit reminds riders that the Government of Canada is encouraging Canadians to use public transit with a tax credit on the cost of monthly transit passes.   Be sure to ask for a receipt and keep it for income tax purposes.

Elementary School Group Field Trip:  We offer one-half the regular fare for elementary school group field trips within the City.  Some restrictions apply, ie, must travel between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on school days; a group of no more than 20 passengers; must arrange trip at least 2 days in advance and pick-up tickets from Belleville Transit located on 2nd floor of City Hall.
