07.17.10 - Water System Break AdvisoryA large number of homes in the City of Belleville are experiencing disruptions in the water service due to a Break on the 24 inch water main.
07.19.10 - Boil Water Advisory (Media Release 2)The City of Belleville is continuing to deal with the effects of a water main break on Sidney Street in the west part of the City. A boil water advisory is still in effect for the area which includes all properties on Elgin Street, Tripp Avenue, Pepper Avenue, Faraday Gardens, Butler Street, Lake Court and Moira Street West in the vicinity of Elgin Street and Butler Street. Residents are reminded to boil all water used for consumption or to switch to bottled water until the boil water advisory has been removed.

07.27.10 - Solar Farm – Quinte Sports CentreThe Corporation of the City of Belleville, with the technical assistance of Veridian Connections submitted a successful application to the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) under the Feed in Tariff (FIT) Program. The OPA by means of the Provincial Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 has approved an advantageous kWh rate for the development of a photo voltaic solar farm (approximately 2,000 panels) to be established on the roof top of the Quinte Sports Centre.
08.06.10 - Alderville First Nation and City of Belleville CelebrateBELLEVILLE, ONTARIO (August 6, 2010) – Member of Parliament Rick Norlock, on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, and Mayor Neil Ellis of the City of Belleville participated in a special ceremony today hosted by Chief James Marsden of the Alderville First Nation. The ceremony, held in Belleville, commemorated the First Nation’s past presence in the City of Belleville, as well as the resolution of their specific claim.
