Quick Tour
Discover Belleville - Quick TourWhat brings people to Belleville?

Belleville is at the centre of the Quinte area. Shopping, dining experiences, theatre, fishing, wind surfing and visits to old friends, all bring people to Belleville. Whatever the reason, they always take home some memories and make plans to return on another day. The famous Waterfront Festival gives people an excuse to visit Belleville in July, when the usually tranquil Bay of Quinte shoreline comes alive with music, water-ski shows, hundreds of boats and ethnic delights from food to dance.

Sports, such as world class auto and motorcycle racing at Shannonville Motorsport Park, and Ontario Major Junior A Hockey at the Quinte Sports Centre, bring thousands of visitors to Belleville annually.

Belleville is easy to access by Hwy 401, located approximately an hour and a half east of Toronto or 40 minutes west of Kingston.

The Log Cabin is the home of the Belleville and Belleville and District Chamber of Commerce. The staff is there to help you with your tourism information needs such as brochures, maps and other information concerning the places to see and stay and events in the Quinte area. The Log Cabin overlooks the Moira River at the corner of Hwy 62 (Pinnacle St.) and East Moira St. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on weekends in July and August. Call (613) 962-4597.

Farmers' Market

On Market Day, the Farmer's Market bustles with activity from the first early crops of spring to the bountiful harvest of autumn. Anywhere from 50-75 vendors display their fresh produce, maple syrup, eggs and flowers to eager customers. Shopping at the Market is a time-honoured activity for many Bellevillians and it offers the visitor a chance to buy quality fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The Market is located behind City Hall on Pinnacle Street and takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The City of Belleville is the largest service centre in the Bay of Quinte Tourist Region and, as such, offers excellent shopping facilities. The Quinte Mall is located adjacent to Highway 401 at the Highway 62 interchange in the north end of the city. The Bayview Mall at the east end, and plazas throughout the city, mean that you're never far from convenient shopping hours, quality national retailers and selections of merchandise sure to please.

Belleville is proud of its downtown with its tree-lined shopping area. Downtown offers convenient benches, ample parking, over 250 stores, restaurants and services for pleasant and leisurely shopping. Watch for the sidewalk sale in July.

Bargain buffs, take notice. Belleville has several factory outlets that are worth investigating. For example, the local dairy will appeal to ice cream and dairy product devotees. The local chocolate factory just off Sidney Street is a chocolate lover's heaven.
