Police Services

The Belleville Police Service, founded in 1836, is one of the most established municipal police services in Canada. Duties range from traffic enforcement, community policing, school liaison and highly involved criminal investigations.

Emergency Services

The City of Belleville has 4 Fire Halls. 2 in Belleville Ward and 2 in Thurlow Ward. Belleville Fire provides inspection services and prevention education along with Emergency services including fire supression and emergency medical assistance.

Belleville Transit

Transit is composed of 12 full sized buses. The intercity bus terminal is located at 165 Pinnacle Street. Vehicle maintenance and bus storage facility is located at 400 Coleman Street. Mobility bus services are provided by contract.

Property Standards fall under Section 15.1(3) of the Building Code Act, S.O. 1992, c.23, By-Law NO. 2000-45 has been passed by Council for the municipality prescribing the standards for the maintenance and occupancy of property.
