Public Facilities Provide Relief from Heat
Posted: June 12, 2017
The City of Belleville encourages those needing relief from the heat to access public facilities within The City as cooling centres. The Belleville Public Library, the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and the Splash Pads are some of these options.
The Belleville Public Library on Pinnacle Street in the downtown core is open:
9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday
5:00 p.m. on Fridays and 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays
Starting on June 18th the library will be open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre on Cannifton Road is open:
6:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight
Please note the QSWC will be closing early on June 30th and the QSWC will be closed on July 1st. There is also a special activity schedule on the Civic Holiday so the building will be closing earlier.
The splash pads are open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Parkdale Splash Pad, Parkdale Veterans Park, 119 Birch Street
Kinsmen Splash Pad - 151 Dundas Street East
West Riverside Splash Pad, 373 Moira Street East
Please reach out to friends and neighbours living on their own to ensure they are coping with the temperatures.
